@millie210 - what happens to wives of elders? my husband is not a servant and none of my close friends husbands are either. I was recently at a dinner and a sister I met was saying her husband just got appointed and the other elders wives told her to get ready. So, my question is, get ready for what? Do people complain about elder wives dress? You are expected to never miss a meeting? What is it? Because the servants wives in my area are the only ones allowed to miss meetings/ service because they are the only 'truly' sick ones, the rest of us are fakers, :)

Usually, I feel irritated, because I know all the butt kissing they did to get there. Any of our friends that got appointed turned in to robots. I think most reach out for the title, but the few sincere ones, realize their treading against the current And get burned out. We come to meeting when we want, leave at the half, never pioneer, hardly ever do service and feel the servants look down on us (from shepherding calls and conversation, we know were labeled weak) however, I am pretty sure they are jealous that we do what's best for our family and they wish they Had the balls to do the same. Having a title and the ego come at a price :)
I remind my hubby at least we have our education, good jobs, happy family, and live well....so 3.5 hours out of the week we are treated As though we are worthless. At least in the 'world' we are respected. Isn't that pathetic we feel that way, as Gods loving people?!

Was at A Witness gathering tonight and mentioned the Bible Students, everyone looked at me like I was nuts. How do I prove you still exist, website? Do you all celebrate holidays? Do you meet together weekly? I am curious through doing my own research and dissatisfaction with JWs but also, so I can be informed when discussing you BS with other JWs. I guess I am being rather brazen :)

So this scary horrific Great Tribulation we are waiting for isn't what We have learned my whole life? Scared to death as a kid, this horrific event we waited for Isn't going to be as I grew up fearing. Henice the Revelation book. Count me in.
I have lived in fear my whole life and hated we lived in the 'last days' where meeting and service meant our salvation.
can you explain why when Russell died and most people left.... Why do current JWs not see, maybe another branch was correct and Rutherford went astray?

When he was talking to teens, did you see how ridiculous when he says, what's after 12... 13! You're talking to teenagers....not 2 year olds. Lame. And about bullying, he went out in service and met the bully at the door.?? Embarrassing, now he will really get his butt kicked. They have never raised kids for the most part and live in isolation....and they have advice parents will use? Scary?

Even if their plan is to make it so jw kids don't watch tv. Their ten years behind. Kids have too easy of access to the internet, know a lot from their peers, they won't buy in to watch only jw tv. Not too mention, kids my kids age 6-newborn, we as parents can hardly stay in the hypocrisy circle known as the truth. This only serves themselves, the good loving JWs that still believe wil feel encouraged, but mainly the servants and women with titles that LOVE to be the first too know. They will use it to compare with other families ...'we stream jw tv every morning...' Start quoting GB members talks in their comments on Sunday.

How many born ins actually stay?

I'm in this group of born ins. I see them either leaving or just numb. A select few are zealous and used in the hierarchy....the rest sit back and feel like we have the truth but something is seriously wrong. Hey, if we die, we die at least we won't burn. I was talking with some 60/70 year old born ins who 'made the truth their own' with deep study, but say us 20/30 year olds haven't done that, but we aren't given anything deep and these old ones see it. They said we need to do our own research, trust in Jehovah, and rise above. I pointed out all the hypocrisy, double standards, and lack of love they see it and acknowledge it. They did get worked up saying as I pointed out multiple flaws we have, their trust is in the slave though, thinking local congs are crazy but not the bOrg. I shut my mouth when they went there, I didn't need to be in a JC. So, the oldies trust in the top not the local level...and the youth, don't know what to think, other then wishing they were out. Pissed off they have kids, are Broke, and can't live their life.

I'll have to dig after our next meeting. I know we do not believe the Holy Spirit does any appointing, nor do we really believe in these blessings or 'modern day miracles' we hear during our meetings. Or as we like to call them, personal testimony hour. He can not stand the weakness and unloving way the elders are, the hypocrisy, and callousness to the 'lowly' ones. To sum it up, he can not stand how they talk about how loving, united, we are compared to others, when he feels we are the most UNloving group. He isnt affected by people's personal opinions in regards to his choices or views, and maintains his only concern is that of Jehovahs approval. Primarily, it's a social issues he has.

I have been pondering things with my husband, 1914 for example. He is open to discussion but I don't want to cross that precious line and then he stops listening to me and becomes defensive. I have been fed all these 'biblical truths' I have no way of knowing anything on my own. I guess now I see I have been a lazy witness. It just seems it would be a 'he said she said' of biblical researcher opinions/interpretations.
